Gate Runner
The basics

How to Play

Gate Runner has two modes that feed into each other: the Runner track builds your distance and hands out power upgrades, and the Dungeon is where you actually fight for your rank.

Runner

Run the gate

An endless side-track. Tap to jump over obstacles, and steer between lanes to grab coins.

  • Jump over obstacles you can clear.
  • Shift lanes around obstacles you can't jump.
  • Coin trails always route around obstacles — arcing up over jumpable ones, shifting sideways around the rest. They never run straight through something in your way.
  • Run through Power Gates to earn power upgrades directly.
  • Every metre you cover adds to your lifetime Total Distance — one of the three things standing between you and your next rank.
Dungeon

Fight for the rank

Pick a monster rank and step into the arena for a real-time battle.

  • Cast your powers using the on-screen action buttons — each one has its own cooldown that fills back up as a bar.
  • Summon an ally or clone your enemy if you've unlocked those powers.
  • Watch your HP — monsters enrage and hit harder once they're low, and so do you.
  • Beating a monster of your current rank is one of the requirements to actually rank up — it isn't optional flavor.
Inside a battle

What a Dungeon fight actually feels like

Every combatant — the boss, its minions, your ally, your clone — runs on the same underlying AI, scaled to its own rank. That means fights are symmetric: whatever your side can do, so can theirs.

Everyone keeps their distance

Combatants hold a minimum spacing from each other so fights read as long-range spellcasting rather than a pile-up of bodies. Nobody clumps on top of the target.

Groups take turns, not pile-ons

Only a limited number of attackers can commit to a target at once. If a group is fighting you, they queue for an opening instead of all attacking simultaneously.

Attacks can be dodged

Every incoming targeted attack — not just the big telegraphed ones — gives the target a real chance to physically dodge out of the way. At high rank, a successful dodge can turn into a teleport-behind counterattack instead.

Fights escalate

Low-HP combatants enter an enrage phase and hit harder. High-rank fighters gain combo follow-up attacks. The higher the rank on the field, the faster and more dangerous the fight gets.

Your ally

Summoning & spectating

Once you've unlocked Summon Circle, you can call a genuine AI-controlled ally into the fight — it uses the same power roster you do, moves and dashes on its own, and fights like a real second player.

Perspective toggle

Open Settings and switch perspective to spectate your ally instead of controlling your own character directly. Your character disappears from the field while you're spectating, and reappears near the action — within about 50 metres — the moment you switch back.

Spectator boost

While you're spectating, your ally fights with a real one-tier power boost — extra damage and extra speed, not extra health. It's a genuine combat advantage for watching them work, not just flavor.

Look sensitivity

Adjust camera look sensitivity to taste from the Dungeon settings panel. Your setting is saved and carries over between sessions.

Home & perspective

Return to the main menu with the Home button, or flip between controlling your character and spectating your ally with the perspective toggle — both live in the same settings panel.
