Two systems, kept deliberately separate: your rank tracks how far you've come overall, and your powers are what you actually fight with. Ranking up no longer hands you free power levels — you earn those on your own.
Your overall rank climbs through 21 tiers. It isn't a number that rises by itself — it only advances once every condition below is true at the same time, or you take the bypass path.
Track shown with the confirmed tier bands — O–K, J–F, E–A, S–Creator, then INFINITY.
Your core powers need to have reached the levels the next rank demands.
Lifetime distance from every Runner attempt adds up. Each rank asks for more than the last.
Beat a Challenge Monster of your current rank at least once, or beat one several ranks above you to skip ahead.
Every power levels up independently — a rank-O Fireball and a rank-S Fireball don't feel like the same spell. Damage, cast speed, and projectile speed all scale with a power's own level, separate from your overall rank.
